Saskatoon Millenium Lions Are Looking For Help For This Family
Dear Fellow Lions
A (surprise) Steak Night for the Family of Shane Fleming is being held on February 12th, 2012. Shane is 24yrs old and suffers from Epilepsy and Autism. He has been on medication for years. On Monday October 3rd Shane had Grand Maul Seizers and was hospitalized. The medication was not working for him and Neurologist from the RUH tried to find one that may help control the Seizers. The Medication that they tried either did not work or he was allergic to it. The last resort was to try a medication called Rufinalmide from the Netherlands. They put Shane on this medication and he is presently doing really well.
The reason for the Steak Night is to help with the medication cost which is not covered by Health Canada and is still waiting for approval within Canada. The medication cost is $500.00 for the his first 3 weeks and will continue about $1000 per 3 week periods.

Planting a Million Trees - Do You Believe it Can Be Done?

This year the International President is Wing Kun Tam from Hong Kong and one of his goals for the upcoming Lions year is to have one million trees planted around the world.
